Verses with a Voice is a poetry collection dedicated to those affected by mental illness, grief and addiction.

The reason for publishing this book is beyond personal achievement.

It’s about giving a voice to those impacted by mental illness, grief and addiction.

I want people to feel understood.

I want people to realize they aren’t alone.

I want people to better understand the people around them that may be struggling to stay afloat in their grieving process.

I want to bring peace to the person who lost someone close to them by suicide or an overdose.

I want to show people that “addicts” are humans.

I want people to realize that mental illness deserves the same quality of care as physical conditions.

I want to end the stigma surrounding mental illness and addiction.

I want to spark conversations beyond the superficial topics and talk about how we are really doing.

I want to shift the narrative from misunderstood to understood.

I want healthcare professionals to not only recognize mental illness and grief within themselves, but also see their patients beyond the textbook descriptions.

I want people to know that they may be going through a tough time, but they matter.

You matter.
